Nomique and the Environment

environmentEnsuring that our business are conducted to minimise any potential environmental impact is a primary focus of Nomique.

We have developed a comprehensive Environmental Management System which satisfies all elements of ISO 14001 accrediation compliance.

We have full member ship with the Forest Stewardship Council. Using wood from environmentally appropriate , socially beneficial, an economically managed forest we offer products with a FSC® chain of custody.

From responsibly sourcing materials and managing our supply chain, to designing products that can be easily, cost-effectively and rapidly taken apart at the end of their useful life and waste management, we are always looking for new solutions to protect the environment.

Products with fewer parts and environmentally efficient materials have reduced our production costs and energy consumption across the business.

Some of our sustainable solutions

Wherever possible we choose to work with local suppliers, to ensure the high quality of raw materials and short delivery ways.

We are opting to use more environmentally friendly methods of finishing such as the use of ‘eco chrome’.

We work with responsible fabric manufacturers who are developing materials with higher wool (or other natural fibres) content as opposed to man-made fabrics. The foam in our soft seating are 100% recyclable and we also use a high percentage of recycled foam.

The Axia® contains up to 96% recyclable component and is designed for disassembly which allows for components to be reused.

An effective delivery cycle which designed to be economically as well as environmental responsible to keep emissions as low as possible.

Axia® – Designed for disassembly

designfordissThe Axia chairs are designed for disassembly which makes it completely modular. The chairs can be easily taken apart into their individual components, which makes it not only easy to change and replace parts but also means that each chair can be customised to the users requirements.

The Axia promotes a closed cycle. The high quality of the chairs results in a life span of at least 10 years. At the end of their useful life, these chairs can be completely recycled. And that’s when the modular construction of the Axia really comes into its own. To promote this recycling of materials, we offer to buy back the old Axia. We then ensure that every new chair contains 2/3 by weight of reused materials. All returned chairs enter a second life either as a reused component or as a complete second hand chair.
