The message is clear: ”Our bodies simply aren’t built for such sedentary existence. In fact, just the opposite is true. The human body is built to move.” There are short term ill effects like back and shoulder pain as well as lack of concentration and tiredness. But, there are long terms effects as well. “Recent studies have found that sitting for long periods is linked with some types of cancers and heart disease and can contribute to diabetes, kidney and liver problems.”
What can be done? Reality shows lots of people have jobs that require them to sit down for prolonged periods of time.
So when we sit down, we have to sit well supported so that the body experiences the least amount of strain.
