The patented Axia mechanism is based on the principle of pelvic support. The 1:1 synchro mechanism in combination with a split seat, where the rear part of the seat tilts backwards but the front stays horizontal, keeps the pelvis from rotating and therefore in a neutral position which helps the back to support itself.

Four sensors in the seat and two sensors in the back cushion of the Axia Smart Chair, register the user’s posture and provide tangible and visual posture feedback when needed. The Smart Technology helps the user to make the most of the ergonomic benefits of the chair by using and adjusting it correctly. Additional Software like Axia Smart Insight and Axia Smart Cloud can give in-depth information on posture, sitting behaviour or occupation and workplace configuration.
The innovative modular system of the Axia 2.0 chair can be easily customised to its user. Choose from a selection of different height back cushions, seat cushions and mechanisms from light to heavy weight to suit the user’s requirements. In addition to the standard parts there is also a wide range of special solutions e.g. coccyx cut out or memory foam. Axia 2.0 Seating System makes it easy to customise each chair to meet the requirements of its user but still creating a consistent and contemporary look throughout the whole office.
The concept of sustainability is embedded in the Axia Smart Seating System. A closed material cycle makes the Axia 2.0 a durable and environmentally responsible chair.
In the production process more than 60% of the new chair is recycled content. At the end of its long (10 year warranty) useful life the Axia can be recycled up to 98%. We also offer a revitalisation and buy back scheme for chairs that are still in working condition.
After winning the IF Product Design Award 2014, the new Axia 2.0 has also won the prestigious Red Dot Product Award 2014. The Axia 2.0 was crowned with the highest award in its category: Best of the Best. This classification is only granted to products with a design so innovative and ground-breaking that it may be regarded as a new standard.
