Maintenance

Thanks to Nomique’s circular business model approach and strategy, the design and manufacturing of furniture are both highly facilitated processes. This applies to the maintenance process as well, given that individual components can be easily replaced or repaired to preserve the excellent quality of the product. In addition, the lifespan is prolonged.

Circularity at Nomique

A circular economy is an effective model to significantly reduce waste and maximise the reusability of products and raw materials. This is in line with Nomique’s core values.

Whether we reuse or redistribute products and residual materials outside the organisation depends on their quality and purpose. Indeed, maintenance is highly essential for either of these processes, as we aim to provide quality assurance.

If a product cannot be reused or redistributed as is, it is necessary to repurpose it. This means analysing the product’s individual parts to see what can be done. Depending on their condition, we have several options: refurbishing, remanufacturing, or recycling.

Nomique’s goal is to incorporate a circular business model, constantly research innovative ways to reduce waste and harmful environmental impact, and repurpose residual materials to minimise waste.

Preventive Maintenance

It is better to prevent than to react. While it is of the utmost importance to be adaptable and have critical thinking when it comes to solving unexpected problems, it is also vital to prioritise preventive measures. This minimises the risk of issues, malfunctioning equipment, and deviations from schedules.

Lack of usability and affected functionality are both manufacturing problems that appear from various failures. However, these can be prevented most of the time. For this reason, with our preventive maintenance measures, we aim to reduce such issues, maximise productivity, and improve the product’s lifespan.

For example, if the wheel of an office chair doesn’t function properly, other issues will follow. Putting a strain on this product to be able to move it will cause damage to its armrest or other essential parts. However, when this issue is identified early on, all the possible damages are entirely prevented.

Based on annual inspection and checks, 85% of deviations are identified and eliminated before they become a malfunctioning issue. Therefore, the goal is always to detect the weakest links through preventive maintenance. Doing this before the product is finalised improves its quality and lifespan.

In-House Furniture Repairment

Thanks to our preventive maintenance services, numerous products from more than 20 competitor brands were sent to our factory last year, either for maintenance or repair. So, there is no denying that this approach to increasing lifespan is highly effective.

With the help of technology and an efficient team, any damaged or poorly maintained product can be amended relatively easily and promptly, whether it needs new upholstery, repainting, or other improvements. Indeed, if the maintenance or repair job is more complex, the process will be lengthier.
When it isn’t possible to reuse a product or item of furniture given its design wasn’t based on a circular business model, we try to find other possible sustainable solutions.
